It was stated that words and language play can stimulate student's natural interest in language. Which can help improve reading and vocabulary development.

As I continued to read I came across vocabulary hotshot notebook. I really like this resources and I would like to eventually use it with my student's.

As the chapter began it was really interesting to read about biographical writing focuses on people. How students like to investigate the loves of well-known personalities as they read biographies and to share information.

As I went on to read about The Genre: Biography. It was cleat that writers use the biography genre to tell stories about their lives or the lives of other people.

Personal narratives are first-person accounts of single events from the writer’s own life. Memoirs are stories to interpret events in a writer’s life.

Autobiographies are sketches of the writer’s entire life.

Organization of an Argument: An argument has a beginning, middle, and end. In the beginning, writers hook the reader and state their position clearly. In the middle, they present three or more pieces of evidence to support their view. In the end, writers lead readers to agree with their belief or to take action with a personal appeal, a prediction, or a summary of their arguments.

Persuasive Poster: Is a combination of drawing and writing is used to state a position on persuasive posters. Children are surrounded by persuasive posters, ranging from “Keep America Beautiful”. To different types of persuasive poster that are displayed through the school.

Students can write letters to persuade other, such as family member, friends and even school boards.

Or they can writing essays that are argumentative essays. Students can use this to argue a topic they strongly support or disagree. Or they can also simply argue for a topic they strongly believe in.
