Technology in History Education - Alec Wellman

Technology would be useful in teaching History because it would allow the child to view the past events in new lights and help break the mold of the old textbook ways of learning. Only using a textbook to teach creates a sense of the student not relating to the subject matter at hand. Showing the students a battle, or presidential speech from the past "live" would make the students feel as if they are actually at the event and have it register in their memory better since they say learning from experience is the best way to learn.

Voki: http://tinyurl.com/z3dfv25

Blog: http://alecwellman1.blogspot.com/

Best teacher blogs; http://progressivehistoryteacher.blogspot.com/p/best-practices.html
http://blog.teachingamericanhistory.org/

Prezi:
https://prezi.com/hixtivfl9sz_/why-i-want-to-teach-high-school-history/#

Lesson Plan: http://hti.osu.edu/history-lesson-plans/united-states-history/constitution-compared-with-articles-confed + The Technology to Enchance it: an interactive constitution and Articles of Confederation app where the students can click on a part of each document and it provides clarity to the line so the students can understand it.

Youtube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxP-XkKavwA&feature=youtu.be

Technology is definitely useful in ESL teaching

Since I want to teach English as a second language, I believe that technology can be played as an important role in the field of ESL. Technology helps out people who do not have sufficient ability of English. I have a friend who teaches English in Florida. When I went to observation of her class, there was a turkish girl who do not speak English. The student was allowed to use a IPAD for translator. Something like this, technology helps us out to become a better learner

http://henrykim27311.blogspot.com/

Prezi:
https://prezi.com/tfeglrvzshgo/why-i-want-to-teach-esl/

Voki:
http://tinyurl.com/hku6lst

A lesson plan: http://www.eslkidstuff.com/lesson-plans/pdf/intro-lesson-older-kids.pdf

Youtube like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4OW7-mqDrQ&t=6s

Technology is vital in the Early Childhood Development.

Technology can help me in the early childhood development and education field with language interaction and pear to pear learning with children and my co-educators. Technology can not only allows me to prove my own knowledge but it also allow to help those in the environment i work .

http://ramab14.blogspot.com/?m=1
Why I want to teach:
Blogg:

https://www.blogger.com/blogger?
Prezi:

https://prezi.com/rjlqylm9yxql/a-fun-environment-for-children/
blogID=7546879344155878503#allposts
Voki:

http://tinyurl.com/h5t5nbt
Youtub:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KmT_geycT0&t=46s
Fun learning environment lesson
http://www.first-school.ws/theme/nutrition.htm

content/uploads/2012/07/IMG_0046.jpg
Assistive Technology
This computer screens is designed for visually impaired students. Visually impaired students have a hard time seeing computer screens, project screens, the front board, the teachers and even objects that may be placed in front of them. This makes it difficult for students to read things far or close to them, and ultimately makes it difficult to concentrate during class which minimizes the amount of learning. Therefore, It is important to make sure that all students with visual impairment have the right tools and type of technology that can help them to be able to read and see everything in the class, so that they have the same learning opportunities as all the other students.

This screen reader, combines sound and pictures to help explain what is on a computer screen. This device enlarges words and pictures on the screen that makes them easier to view. Visually impaired students can range having minor problem such as, nearsightedness, farsightedness to more severe problem , such as blindness, and contact and glasses may not also help. Whatever a student may have, this screen reader assistive technology can help visual impaired students achieve their goals because school can be stressful enough for students, and those with disability should not have to feel more stressed than any other student.

Technology is useful in the field of education to foster language

Technology can help me in the field several ways. The first example was from last week when a child asked me, "what does a cheetah look like?" I then searched in Google Images for a cheetah. This allowed the child to view many different photographs of the same animal. The second example of how technology is useful in the field of education is to be able to share ideas. Pinterest, Google, and Facebook are very useful resources to share activities/recipes/procedures. When the children are interested in an idea, then it is up to the teacher to expand and develop those ideas. Online resources aid the teacher in planning her interest based curriculum.
Jess Cloutier
http://jesscloutier.blogspot.com/
