I know that some books should be banned if they are extremely explicit or might cause dangerous problems. But I do not think this should be used loosely, since sometimes books with things having to do with gender identity/relationships etc., aren't inappropriate. Of course there are some situations where this might be necessary. But if it is wanted to be read, there could be ways with parent/guardian permissions that would allow that book to be read, even though its topic.

I believe these books should not be banned from schools. I believe this for many reasons. The first reason I believe this is because the main reason the books are banned, is because the characters are LGBT+. Someone who is apart of the community isn't harming anyone. If people are uncomfortable with this, they can simply choose to not read the book. For sexual assault their should be a consent form from parents ans a warning sticker. This can educate young girls and boys on how to act if this happens and how to keep themselves safe. For sexual education and sexual references, there can be a warning sticker on the front. If its really bad then the parents can sign a consent form. If its because of religious beliefs/ culture, we as people need to be educated on other peoples religion and culture. If were more educated that we can respect others even though they have a different opinion. If the reason the book was banned because of racism then we should put a warning sticker on the front. Racism is a huge problem in our world and needs to be stopped. One reason we should keep these books is to educate on what is wrong with racism and how it can effect other people. If we read these books then young kids can learn that racism is wrong.

Even if some don't agree with the contents of the book, that doesn't mean that they have the power to take it away from others). It is not fair to those who haven't gotten the ability to voice their opinions; before it was decided to ban books they may enjoy. Although if they wanted to, a possible solution would be to write a disclaimer of some sort to inform others of what the book contains.

The word censor / censorship comes from blocking and removing things that can be considered harmful ideas to others. Censorship can be good when there are things or words that are used in books or tv shows that are not appropriate for younger people. Censorship can be a good thing when trying to hide bad things from others, but it can also hide things that people should know. If everything was censored, we wouldn't know much about the bad things in life. So I believe that censorship can be good up until a certain point where it should be toned down and less protective walls are up.

Censorship is fine when it's in a private place and for a good reason (swearing, etc.) But censoring things like talents or thinking, like in Harrison Bergeron, should not be allowed.

I think it really depends on the book, as well as the age level and maturity of the reader. While books are important and powerful, they can sometimes be abused as in a sense of kids justifying their rude and wrong actions by saying that they read it in a book. For example, kids calling other kids slurs that they learned from a book. However, if it's LGBTQ+ realated it should not be banned. Why would you ban a book with a straight couple, one is not more "normal" than the other. It's love which I beleive shouldn't be censored. Also LGBTQ+ books educate kids on the topic and can help kids who are questioning. They can also help members of the community feel less alone if they are ever picked on for who they are. I use this as an example because it seems that most of the books that are banned are banned due to being LGBTQ+ related.

Being able to be on top and a head on all things going around on the globe is an important factor in awareness. Technology can also allow us to communicate with others while not needing to be in person, which is very good in the current times. With new technology also comes many problems such as the ability of cyber attacks on the government and intellectual theft. People being able to control such technology makes it so everyone needs to stay even more alert.

But due to some reasons, it could also be useful (usually to younger audiences) in order to keep some unharmed; mentally or physically. It can play both good and bad roles in our society, based off the intentions behind it. However, if by censoring they are unfairly taking away basic freedoms, that's when it becomes difficult to justify. Therefore it can become a bad thing.

Censorship is a "censoring" or blocking of information from public eye. I think it can be used in very scarce situations. I think in a lot of the cases it is used in, it is used because the people in power don't want that certain opinions to be heard, rather than that opinion (whatever it is, the thing that is being censored) is considered dangerous. This happens on social medias today often with politics and I think it is wrong to censor someones opinion in politics just because you don't like it. I believe it should be allowed if the thing being censored is seriously dangerous, like if someone was being extremely inappropriate/dangerous.
So overall, I believe in some cases it should be allowed, but in a lot of the cases it is used in, it violates peoples freedom of speech.

When companies work to have the next best piece of tech then you reach groups advancing for faster and better ways for our society to live. You also end up with large companies giving our lives better and faster options and more efficient ways to live. Although, when our lives speed up more technology can mean ruining our environment to build the tech, forgetting to take a break from technology and letting it take over our lives, and allowing technology to become more important than certain areas of our lives. Since many companies are just focused on selling more products and getting more money, many ads and features on apps and tech are used to make us spend more time on our phones, computers, etc. Technology is good for advancements and efficiency but many companies are losing sight of the growth aspect and are just aiming for money now.

First, I believe people creating new things, that allows them to use their talents/innovation to their fullest, and I think having innovative people is super important for society to function.
Also, it can make some people jobs easier. In some cases of bomb threats and nuclear accidents, rescue workers have sent in robots to disarm the bomb or access the situation. Having a robot do that eliminates the ability for the rescuers to get hurt. I also believe it is bad in a way because if we keep advancing robots and mechanical programs, those "robots" will take jobs that originally belonged to people. This could crash the economy if people started losing their money and jobs to robots. So I think if we are careful with technology so we don't replace jobs with technology

Social media can provide a way to express creativity. Creativity allows us to be ourselves. It's also an effective way to communicate with people. Communication is important among different people, so they can share ideas and opinions. Social media could also be bad though. I can carry people away from there present moment/what they believe in, and can start a lot of arguments that can tear people apart rather than bring them together. In the end, social media is positive and negative,

Technology is growing more and more every day. Technology is good because, for example, robots (very advanced technology) can help with everyday things like helping in a hospital or a nursing home. But when robots help around the house that is making you more lazy.

For a long time now people have been banning books from libraries, schools and other places you may go to read. As this happens a question arises; should we ban books? One one hand if we don’t then kids may read books that have inappropriate content for them. If we do then it limits a child’s view on the world to things deemed “appropriate” and if they hear things in the real world that they never heard before because books with it were ban then they may learn of it from an untrustworthy source and gain a perspective on it that may be unhelpful or biased. I believe that the correct way to solve this problem is instead of banning books we include a note on the inside of the cover of books in question saying why they are in question.

Is technology good or bad? We have been asking this question for a long time. Long ago there was a time when the thought of security cameras at every intersection was seen as a horrible thing that would have been a huge violation of privacy. Now we have grown used to the idea and don’t mind it much, but is it good to have a camera always watching us? There are some times when cameras have been misused and violate people’s privacy and also times where cameras have been used to apprehend criminals. Then is it good or bad? What it boils down to is that it’s not the tech that is good or bad but who and how it’s being used.

Censorship is the act of removing or hiding information that may be seen as offensive, political unacceptable or a threat to security, but is it right? Is it okay to block out what someone says? As Americans we should have the freedom to say what we want and not have to risk the government coming down on us due to our beliefs, right? Well if you are in a high position of power in the government you can’t go and tell an opposing country all of our nation's secrets. That is where censorship comes in. It removes people's right to speak of curtain subjects. Is it good then? Only if used under the right circumstances and the correct amount. A world with too little will fall apart and a world with too much will revolt.
