The American military's priority was to defeat the Axis forces and win the war. As Jews in the US did want the US to take action as they didn't want to get involved or avoid any potential retaliation. Even if they won, they never want to bomb the camps but it was a reminder of the war because it wouldn't even be worth from what they had to deal with.

There weren't many options, but bombing Auschwitz might have been seen as an easy way out. It wouldn't require as much risk as sending a rescue team, and their priority is to simply win the war. The Jews remaining in the camps could have built lives after the war, their death was unnecessary

I think Allies should have bombed Auschwitz if they could've evacuated the Jews or anyone else in the camp. But,they couldn't do that without killing those in the camp. Also maybe bombing the camps could be a way to erase history because Auschwitz is now a historical and educational site.
