         <description><![CDATA[<p>Students will have 9 weeks to research, design, create and evaluate a mechanical toy.  </p><p>Constraints: </p><p>Students must only utilise the listed materials, in the dimensions provided.  </p><p>Students may alter the materials where possible to fit their design.</p><p>For sustainability, students can utilise additional material such as off cuts and recycled materials.  </p><p>The design must have movement created by the use of one or more simple machines: lever, wheel and axel, gears, pulleys, etc.  </p><p>The lesson sequence will begin around week 2, after students have completed safety training, had inductions and been introduced to the assessment task.  </p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Have students sketch their ideas using a free program such as Krita.  This allows students the ability to be creative, without the "fear of failure".  Similar to using mini whiteboards, the student has more control and test ideas and refine them.  </p><p><br/></p><p>Using digital programs, users can be assisted with the use of pre existing shapes, and brushes to create designs with ease.</p><p><br/></p><p>Scaffolding can also incorporate the existing features, students with broken arms or mobility issues will also have more access to the curriculum, through the use of digital sketching programs.  </p>]]></description>
