However, you must have an iphone to get the app. (While investigating this more online, I did find advertisements for similar android apps, but I have not tried those yet. If they are not comparable, I am sure it will not be far behind).

I love that they have a "an article-a-day", that can be read to students, or can be read as whole class. Also, with reading comes comprehension questions. The articles are fiction or non-fiction, and are very interesting topics. As an educator you can assign readings to your students, and there is also a way to manage their reading comprehension.  This is a fantastic website to use daily. By the way, it is free!

This is a free add-on for Google Docs users.  It includes a suite of tools that help students make their sentences more economical, varied, powerful, and clear. Unlike other tools, it does not correct the issues, but leads users to examples and exercises for how to correct them. My AP Literature students claim this tool has made a significant improvement in their writing.

Super simple. Super powerful. Super engaging. Teachers can provide customized feedback and set privacy rules, record and upload video stimuli, embed YouTube videos, or images for students to discuss. Or, add a little fun with GIPHY and Emoji. My students need lots of practice with speaking skills and this serves that purpose. It is authentic social learning.

I had always had students create presentations on power point or google slides but a lot of my students dreaded being in front of their peers. Adobe spark helps by allowing students to pre-record what they want to say in the privacy of their own space. They can listen to their presentation and edit to their liking. Adobe spark also allows users to create theme based presentations and use google images to help presenters support their ideas with vivid and lively images. Students can also share their work on their social media platforms and allow others to see the work they are doing.

This has become especially handy for me as an English teacher. My school is made up of 70% Hispanic students most of whom are or were classified as English Language Learners. Many of them are reclassified before they get to me in high school, however there are some who need additional assistance and so a website like Lingro is crucial for research project and other digital needs in the classroom. Students simply type in a web address on the lingro website and then they are able to click on any work in the website to get a translation or definition for the word.

A word cloud is defined as: an image composed of words used in a particular text or subject, in which the size of each word indicates its frequency or importance. (Google)

This can come in handy when writing lengthy research papers in which student must decide what the most important subjects or theme the author is writing about is. The words that are generated larger provide students with a great jumping off point to conduct their research from and allow for quicker processing of text and less frustration for the writer.

This website can often serve as a non-linguistic tool to as assist even the most novice English speaking student.

You can also use PowToon to provide information to parents during Open House or Parent Night.

Students of all ages can use this as a presentation platform as well.  Just add the content and the program will help you create a presentation, including character animation and music. My students enjoy using PowToon to create vocabulary videos for their peers to use at home in preparation for vocabulary quizzes.

Additionally, the program is great for teachers, mostly because teachers get reporting on what students are doing as well as what skills students have mastered and what skills students will need additional support in. Money is only involved if students want more features of the program and it is completely optional and does not make the program more effective, just added features like new hair designs for characters. You can create and recreate any story and share it with others when your students feel happy with their finished product.

Research shows that students need to be able to solve math facts fluently, and easily, to solve more complex math problems. 

Students take a few minutes every day to practice their facts on this program and must be able to recall the facts quickly (within three seconds), and correctly, in order to move on to the next level. Progress reports are available for teachers to see students' progress.

This program provides independent practice and can be useful for teachers to review specific standards.  When one subscribes to the website, teachers are able to give students placement tests and see the specific standards students are struggling in.

A teacher can create quizzes, surveys, presentations, and videos. One of the functions that is the most useful is the presentation feature. Students can see a variety of sources, so this obviously works great for differentiated instruction. Also, you can give formative and summative assessments. This may not sound to impressive, but the program not only grades your exams it also creates pdf reports. This is great for data tracking, and looking for your students strengths and weaknesses in different content areas. This is a great app that has a multitude of functions.

Spelling tests seem to be a thing of the past, but not with spelling city. Spelling city allows teachers to build spelling and vocabulary tests. This program also has pre-generated spelling lists based on state curriculum. It also saves you time on grading. It automatically grades and tracks data. This could be helpful in so many ways. The quizes are so engaging that students have proven to retain more information using this program. This costs $59.00 annually, but it will pay off in student performance.

Teachers can upload audio, pictures, and drawings that assist students in learning the topic at hand. While students are listening to a presentation, they can draw and annotate directly within the presentation. Students can also ask questions as the presentation goes along. Teachers can have questions on the slide that can assess students knowledge of a specific topic. This site can be used for any subject. It is an amazing way to keep students interested and engaged in class.

I still like WeVideo fro myself because it comes installed in my laptop but I would go with screencastify if you are looking for a way to create videos going over lessons, concepts, or simply instructions.

You can take an entire quiz from someone else or questions from several sources and change them up if you want to. It is similar to Kahoot but I prefer it because the questions and answers show up on their screen without them having to wait for the next question. It becomes a very competitive and loud environment but Quizizz connects with Google Classroom and provides the student, and the teacher, with a report of their performance. Quizizz then allows you to look at the reports which can show you individual reports, stats on individual question, or an overall class report which can show you which question(s) they struggled with the most.

I have used this with my students by having them they had a math problem that asked them to create an equation, create and fill a table, and graph graph on a google doc. Google Docs are not very intuitive when it comes to math symbols and formulas but with Draw, my students were able to complete all three parts on one "image" and save it on their Google Doc. It may not seem like much but they did not have to deal with the headaches of trying to figure out how to format everything. If they made a mistake, they could go back and fix that one mistake without changing how anything else looks like. It becomes a pain when they create tables and try to type/draw anywhere near them.

I know there is a scribble option but it is useless with the stylus and tring to use it with the touchpad become cumbersome. I have learned to find ways around it and my students were the ones that showed me sketchpad. They can write/draw/solve on a blank canvas that they can then save and insert into any Google Doc or Slide.
