During this time in high school I thought I had passion for engineering until I started learning about psychology. I couldn't put any psychology book down!

College: Freshman year -Aug 2018

At my beautiful little mountain school I learned more about myself through others than I had my entire life. I found that my friends were even telling me that I clearly had a love for helping others and needed to pursue that.

College: Freshman year 2019

This was a turning point in my studies as I decided my current major was not the one for me and immediately knew that I wanted to give psychology an actual shot.

College: Junior Year-2021

After falling in love with studying psychology I sat down with my friends and asked for help on where I should go with this newfound passion. I knew that I wanted to do some sort of counseling route but was not sure which route would be the best for me. After many talks with my advisor, I decided that grad school would be the best thing for me to do as I would learn so much and feel that fulfillment that I had always been yearning for.

College: Senior year

In this filler class year I enjoyed so much time to myself and reflected on what I wanted out of my life. A lot of my time was spent on the mountains of North Carolina snowboarding my heart away. All this time clearing my head helped me know for sure that Counseling was right for me. Being an emotional person I wanted to make sure I could handle peoples problems along with my own, but on that mountain something clicked and I now knew that even if I couldn't at the time that there would be so many amazing people around me to help me learn how to.

College Senior year-2022

The second half of senior year was spent with advisors and professors trying to figure out the right school for me. The head of psychology at my alma mater was Dr. Malesky, and he helped me every day for weeks finding and planning how to get into the school that would be best for me. I am forever thankful to him as he helped with everything down to recommendation letters. Without him, I would not be in the amazing program with all of you as I am now. Thank you!
