There is a nurse trying to tell her grandparents how to act in the ICU room with Mia, and says she is truly not sure if Mia can hear them, but to not say anything to upset her. Then the other nurse comes by and says this quote. This quote is my favorite because it is truly where the reader knows that it is Mia's choice whether to stay on earth or die. For example, I think that the tragedy aspect and the life or death choice are the most significant aspects of the book, although the author of this review discusses more of the romance of the book. This book has a great amount of tragedy but is really a book about romance and what that does to a person's mind and aspect on life. I really enjoyed reading this book, however at times it felt a little slow. In my opinion it took a while to get to the interesting part of the book where she is making her choice.
