He demonstrates how children should be produced through sexual reproduction rather than technology. (Anderson). Also, there have been a series of studies shown that CRISPR-9 may cause cells to lose their cancer-fighting ability. Many talk about the positives of modifying ones genome, but what is the potential long term effects? CRISPR genome editing can result in unwanted heritable genetic changes. This can ultimately cause mutations elsewhere in the genome such as "off-target" modifications.

As technology evolves we get into new fields such as crisper but it they come with plsdi

a few risks here ill explain a few of them.
Bradley says One probably the biggest fear of CRISPR.
Humans manipulating the genetic code, and those manipulations get passed on generation to generation to generation. We think we know what we’re doing, we think we’re measuring exactly what changes we’re doing to the genes, but there’s always the possibility that either we miss something or our technology can’t pick up on other changes that have been made that haven’t been directed by us. And the fear then is that those changes lead to antibiotic resistance or other mutations that go out into the population and would be very difficult to control. Basically creating incurable diseases or other potential mutations that we wouldn’t really have control over.
,Bradley goes on to state ." A series of studies have suggested that CRISPR may cause cells to lose their cancer-fighting ability, and that it may do more damage to genes than previously understood." Bradley goes on to say “It is important that anyone thinking of using this technology for gene therapy proceeds with caution, and looks very carefully to check for possible harmful effects,”

One very effective strategy for me was immediately writing down quotes and annotations about articles until the quote bank was introduced!! It is a much more organized version of mine. This helped me tremendously in the sense that I didn't have to search for the quote and which section of the article it was from, this way the quote and my notes on the subject were already written down. I'm concerned much more on the biological standpoint of CRISPR. For example, if all seems well in the experiment in the first years of life, what about the potential of a nonreversible mutation arising later in life? I say that because multiple articles we read in class mentioned how germ-line editing can affect future generations. Think of this from the emotional perspective of those who would be affected, nobody has a right to tell someone to not procreate and it is also unfair that these people who were experiments literally had no say in the matter. I read an article by Dayan who provided moral, ethical and religious insight while providing facts like this “Thus the ethical concerns regarding the germ-line editing is the center of debate due to its effective application in the germ cell, as it can affect the newer generation, since the genetic substance are being passed from one generation to the next generation through the sex cells "CRISPR does not cut the genome cleanly but causes considerable damage, and that as the body repairs the damaged new mutations may be introduced ” (Dayan)

CRISPR is a device that carries molecular scissors and with those scissors it can cut up DNA. To get more information in the article “Just Because We Can Create Genetically Modified Babies Doesn't Mean We Should” Anderson states, “At issue is a developing biotechnology known as CRISPR-Cas9 that allows scientists to genetically edit cells. The technique holds potential to treat a variety of genetic disorder such as cystic fibrosis and sickle cell disease, as well as even more complex conditions such as cancers and heart disease.” This device gives people the opportunity to save them from any deadly infection or disease. CRISPR is also said to be very cheap and affordable. You would only need to buy the RNA molecules to make the changes and the good thing about it is that it is around thirty dollars to buy them.

Em Beasley
First, countless embryonic human beings were killed in the process that led to the live birth of these two genetically modified children. Like all so-called "assisted reproductive technologies," many more embryos are created than are implanted and subsequently delivered. The remaining embryonic human beings are either frozen in perpetuity or destroyed. This research poses an immediate threat to the right to life of the unborn.

The risks of the gene editing is many potential people are wasted. The ones that do make it you aren't actually sure are immune to HIV so you must test it and there's a chance you are wrong. The embryos that were made could have insecure if not dangerous side affects. The embryos could be bullied or look different from others. The other effects could be they might have other health issues maybe they get other diseases faster. There are many dangerous things that could happen when changing DNA. Not only can it cause harm to the children but also the mother giving birth to them. The mother can have birth problems more then normal because of the fact that the genes are edited.
