Students often violate the commandment, "Thou shalt not appropriate other people's intellectual output," because they often copy texts and information from others without providing credit to the original owners. Students may want to use the shortcut of using someone else's work so they don't have to put in the effort and the internet gives easy access to do so. On the other hand, many students may not know how to properly cite another's thought or work. They may plagiarize accidently without knowing whether certain information needs to be cited or how to do so.
