In the 5^th grade, he loved his maths teacher so he became interested in Maths. He could solve very diffucult problems. He was very talented. He was sent to St. Louis  High school in Paris to study there. He moved to Europe to develop himself more. In 1937, he attended the Göttingen University . His presentation of Algebra made him famous all around the world.

     In 1938, he turned back to his country and in 1943 he became a professor and in 1955 an ordinarius professor. He continued his studies until 1962 in the university. Then, he went to the Maryland University as a guest professor.

     He had a big support on the foundation of  TUBİTAK. He won the TUBİTAK science word in 1974.

     Between 1964-1966 he worked abroad and in 1980 he retired from METU. He gained commandeur der Palmes Academiques Award on Feb 4,1994.

     He died on Dec 26,1997. He is the symbol of mathematics in our country now.

     Maths was a life style for him.He said to his student ; ‘’Experience mathematics, do it your self and understand.’’ He was a very good teacher. He has a big role in mathematics in Turkey.
