The choice of ICT tool was also reconsidered based on the objective of the activity - a timely reminder that ICT should be used to support lessons and the constant need to explore new platforms.

Connect: After the discussion, the plan was streamlined further to omit parts that might be rigourous and repetitive for the students, e.g. having to explain through typing instead of just sharing verbally. The streamline planned also takes into consideration the differentiation of instructions for our students, e.g. the use of different songs. The use of images also substantiate their inference and meaning making.

Extend: The streamlined plan reduces emphasis on the preparation of different or separate resources, e.g. Part 4 could actually be weaved into or with Part 3.

Connections: To create a more vibrant and lively learning environment, lessons may be designed to incorporate both the use of ICT as well as in-class discussions. From students' responses shown on the ICT platform, teachers may then pose questions which help facilitate discussion and close gaps in learning. Therefore, ICT can be used to facilitate quality class discussions and support learning.

The importance of not losing the focus of what we want our students to learn by the end of the lesson was clear from this morning's discussion. The activities that we select for students to complete must be tied closely with our lesson objectives. Using multiple platforms (eg. Kahoot, Kami and Google classrooms) in one lesson may not necessarily engage our students in the way we desire. Student learning becomes more effective by the depth of thinking and the quality of interactions among peers, not by the number of link-out activities students need to complete.
