1st PP Meeting | August 26-Sept 6

Prior to the Meeting:

Ensure that a professional email is sent to the supervisor to schedule the meeting.
Include the meeting agenda in the email.
Set up the meeting minutes in the process journal.

Meeting Agenda Requirement:

Supervisors should not meet the student if there is no clear meeting agenda provided.

During the First Meeting:

The student

Takes notes and shares the process journal link with the supervisor.
shares their initial ideas about the project, learning goal, and product goal.
The supervisor may invite you to discuss what you're sure about, unsure about, worried about, and excited about at this stage.
Identify a regular meeting time with the supervisor. (Suggestion: avoid break and lunch times.)
A sign-up form will be available for students to meet their supervisor during Guided Study Halls, ATL Seminar lessons, and the AIA lesson.

After the Meeting:

Show the meeting minutes to the supervisor for confirmation of accuracy.
Identify next-step actions and set dates to complete these actions.
Provide a short reflection on the conversation with the supervisor.

Prior to the Meeting:

Finalize learning goal and product goal.
Share the research plan with the supervisor in advance.
Share the meeting agenda with the supervisor.

During the Meeting:

The supervisor inquires why the student wants to undertake the project (purpose) and asks about the global context and exploration.
The supervisor guides the student to identify criteria categories based on the research (e.g., function, message, cost, form, etc.).
Invite the student to identify which ATL skills they have practiced to meet their learning or product goal so far, including the strategies used.
Discuss how the student is balancing the personal project and summative assessment workload.
The student takes notes in their process journal.

After the Meeting:

Identify next-step actions and set dates to complete these actions.
Provide a short reflection on the conversation with the supervisor (using "Here is what, now what, so what" as a reflection tool).
The supervisor updates the PP Tracker 24/25.

PP Meetings Feedback Guide

This feedback guide will give PP supervisors a guideline and prompts for what to cover in each of your PP meeting with your PP students. It will be updated on monthly basis to guide you through the PP meetings as PP supervisors and PP students are expected to meet at least once per month. Please feel free to meet all of your PP students a a group, and meet them as frequently as they need.

PP Students are also allowed to use their AiA and Guided Study Hall DT time for their PP meetings with you. But we require them to book this via the PP meeting booking form one week in advance with you, so that their AiA/Guided Study Hall teachers will be notified for record. From your side, we expect you to check them in and out after their PP meetings with you which are done over the DT time via this Appointment Booking with Supervisors form for us to have an official record tracking students’ whereabouts for safety reasons.

To schedule an appointment with your supervisor, use the Google Form one week in advance. All students must report to their class first to take their attendance, then they can leave to see their supervisor.

A group of Year 12 PP student mentors have been recruited, we have 12 of them, who will be on site on every Day 4 and every Day 8 lunchtime from 12:50pm - 1:30pm in 2C2, when you can sign up for your PP students who need our help from time to time via this PP student mentors service sign up and record.
