I believe that the mongols were evil. They were the cause of 40 million people's death, they burned down civilizations and villages, they would catapult corpses that died of the Black Plague into villages to spread the disease to the villagers who lived there, and they would do many other things to harass/ kill the people like 🤬, stabbing, and shooting them. Sure, the Mongols tolerated a conquered territory's religion, but that was after they threatened to murder them and burn their entire civilization down if they didn't surrender to them. The mongols chased people with horses that were on foot and basically treated them like sheep(The story of All of Us).
The mongols also had walls apon walls of human skulls(The story of All of Us). They also made men over the age of 14 take roles in the military(Document B). The Mongols burned down the largest library in the world. Genghis Khan was responsible for the deaths of 40,000,000 people including children(The story of All of Us).

The Mongols being religiously tolerant allowed them to stay in power because if they made everyone practice their religion they would be more likely to rebel against the Mongol Empire and overthrow it.

The Mongols after taking over villages that they raided allowed the old leaders of said villages to stay in power, this allowed the people to keep the people that they wanted in power and kept the same culture as before in the villages without any problem, They also sent agents from their army to go ahead and warn the village of the Mongol arrival and to deiced whether or not to surrender or get killed, This also helped the Mongol Empire stay in power and preventing rebellions from starting.

Because the Mongol Empire was in the middle of the silk road they tried to protect traders on the trade route so their goods wouldn't get stolen and they get killed, But this also allowed the black death to spread quickly since the silk road was always open, This shows that Mongols were pretty good in morals.

I believe the Mongols were evil.  They did have the biggest army in the world (John Green Crash Course), but how did they get that large army?  They expected boys who were 14 or older to join their army.  If they tried not to, they were killed (doc b).  When they went to other towns and took them over, those boys had to join the army too.  The Mongols destroyed cities and created chaos. They killed 40 million people across Europe. (video). They destroyed hospitals, libraries, and palaces. After their army was so big they began to relax, I guess you could say. They let people stay in charge of their cities if they paid taxes, if not they killed them. (john green) They let them practice religion but only as long as it didn't bother them, if it did, they were killed.
