(DNA extraction liquid)</p></li><li><p>Add two teaspoons of your DNA extraction liquid to the bag of strawberries </p></li><li><p>Reseal the bag </p></li><li><p>gently smash for another minute (avoid making too many soap bubbles).</p></li><li><p>Place the coffee filter inside the other plastic cup.</p></li><li><p>Open the bag and pour the strawberry liquid into the filter.</p></li><li><p> twist the filter just above the liquid  </p></li><li><p>gently squeeze the remaining liquid into the cup.</p></li><li><p> pour down the side of the cup an equal amount of cold rubbing alcohol as there is strawberry liquid.          <description><![CDATA[<p>I hypothesized that the potato would shrink in size. However, my observations did not support my hypothesis, as the potato did not appear to shrink in size. However, this observation might be flawed due to the lack of exact measurements. Also, osmosis impacted the potato in other ways, such as changing the texture and making the potato's structure less rigid. In conclusion, the results of this experiment show that osmosis impacts everyday food objects(in this case a potato) by changing its structure and texture.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I observed that the more I put cotton in the filter, the cleaner the water became. Also, when I put in more sand and soil, the water was dirtier than the cotton filter. This might be because cotton traps more contaminants than sand and potting soil. I could investigate this further by experimenting with other natural materials that trap contaminants.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I hypothesized that natural materials that help water purification the best will be the ones that trap contaminants. My observations did support my hypothesis. My experiment showed that cotton, which is a material that is intertwined, can filter out harmful substances. This concludes that materials that have less gaps in them can filter the water better.</p>]]></description>
