Many of the articles that came after the fire give reports of people jumping from high floors of the building. But there were many tragic events that occurred other than them jumping from the building. Some of the firefighters had ladders that were to short to reach higher floors and others had fire nets that would break when trying to catch people leading to other injuries.

They had locked the stairwell, only had two stairwells, had few windows and none with fire escapes, and the workspace was cluttered together which made it difficult for people to escape.

But some could see the working conditions harsh but not anything that could really lead to someone's death, it simply just slowed them down while trying to escape the fire.
