Roiu Open Youth Center

Located just a short trip from the vibrant student city of Tartu, Roiu offers the perfect balance between peaceful nature and active community. It is a place where you can truly experience the Estonian way of life in a rural area while staying connected to the buzz of the University town Tartu.

We give the opportunity for your personality to shine! Share your culture, lead activities, be a mentor and encourage youth - you´ll become a local “superstar”. A cozy, home-like atmosphere of the youth center is mostly visited by the local youth aged 7-16 who study in a nearby basic school Sillaotsa Kool.

We are a vital part of a bigger network - Roiu is one of three open youth centers in Kastre Municipality. You have the opportunity to collaborate with a wider team of professional youth workers, visit different villages and experience the diversity of the whole region and help organize larger, district-wide events.

Lääneranna youth centers

Lääneranna Culture and Youth Centre operates in Lääneranna rural municipality (Pärnu county) and unites youth work and cultural activities in six areas: Lihula, Virtsu, Varbla, Koonga, Lõpe and Kõmsi. Our goal is to provide young people with a safe and supportive environment where they can participate, develop skills and implement their ideas. Daily activities include cooking, creative activities, games, media/podcast experiments and local events - volunteers are welcome to support activities, share their culture and, if desired, initiate workshops themselves.

Saue Open Youth Center

Kristiine Youth Center, Tallinn

Kristiine Youth Centre provides a wide range of educational and recreational processes that develop young people in various ways: cooking and crafting classes, tournaments, board games, Jeopardy and cultural evenings, themed parties and events. We also organize different events in cooperation with schools and other youth centers both in and out of the youth center itself. Our goal is to help young people become a part of the society by engaging them in their own environment using their own interests.

Toila Open Youth Centers

Toila Sports and Culture Center provides open youth work for young people aged 7–26. We offer a safe and welcoming space in our youth centres in Voka and Kohtla-Nõmme, and also reach young people in other locations through mobile youth work. Põhja-Tallinn Open Youth Center

Põhja-Tallinna Youth Center is a youth-friendly and cozy space where young people aged 7–26 can spend their free

time. At the youth center, youngsters can participate in various activities, events, workshops, and clubs.

The center mainly works using the open youth work method, and our rooms provide safe space for creative activities, games and teamwork. We value inclusion, creativity and active participation. We support young people in becoming active members of society by engaging them in their own environment, building on their interests, developing their social skills, and supporting their initiative ideas.

Working in youth center means that every day is different and full of new challenges and learning opportunities.

Pärnu Youth Recreation Centre

Founded in 2008, Pärnu Youth Recreation Centre is an NGO dedicated to supporting young people’s personal development by providing safe, inclusive spaces where they can express themselves and build social and creative skills. The organisation operates two youth centres in Pärnu, including the largest in the city, and is a pioneer of mobile street-based youth work to reach and support vulnerable youth. Recognised as Estonia’s best youth centre in 2019, it continues to grow and maintain high-quality youth services. Since 2020, the centre has also been active in international youth work, hosting foreign volunteers and organising projects that promote cultural exchange and global engagement.

Viru-Nigula Open Youth Center

Viru-Nigula Avatud Noortekeskus is a youth center organization that provides young people with a safe and supportive environment for learning, creativity, participation, and social activities. The organization consists of three youth centers located in Kunda, Viru-Nigula, and Aseri. Each youth center has its own youth worker, while all three centers are managed by a head of youth centers. Every youth center is unique, and the activities are planned according to the interests, wishes, and needs of local young people. The organization also offers workshops, youth projects, events, and non-formal learning opportunities that support personal development, active citizenship, and community involvement among young people.

PÕHJALA TEHAS – TALLINN, ESTONIA

Looking for a place where culture, creativity and community come together? Welcome to Põhjala Tehas.

Located in a former rubber factory on the seaside Kopli Peninsula in Tallinn, Põhjala Tehas has transformed from an industrial site into one of Estonia’s most vibrant creative communities. Today, more than 100 artists, makers, entrepreneurs, cultural organizations and social initiatives work side by side here.

The factory area is full of life: art studios, workshops, galleries, cafés, community gardens, coworking spaces and unique event venues. Throughout the year, Põhjala hosts festivals, exhibitions, concerts, markets and community projects that bring together people from different backgrounds and countries.

As an ESC volunteer, you will become part of a creative and international environment where no two days are the same. You can contribute to organizing cultural events, creating social media content, supporting community activities, welcoming visitors and helping to develop one of Tallinn’s most exciting cultural hubs.
