         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Boston Latin School was the first school established in the 13 colonies. This school was designed for only sons of certain social classes. The sons were destined for leadership positions in church, states or the courts. The school have some amazing alumni that include 4 Massachusetts born signers of the Declaration of Independance which are Benjermin Franklin, Robert Treat Payne, john Hancock and Samuel Adams. </p>]]></description>

This law stated that every town of at least 50 families would hire a schoolmaster who would teach the children how to read and write. That at least 100 families in a town would hire a Latin grammar schoolmaster who would prepare the students to attend Havard College.  </p>]]></description>
