On the "No hate speech movement" site, bookmarks are available in several languages (including Portuguese one), with various suggestions of activities: “This manual has been designed to support the No Hate Speech Movement, the Council of Europe’s youth Campaign against hate speech online, and will be useful for educators working to address this problem, both inside and outside the formal education system. The manual is designed for working with young people aged 13 to 18; however, activities can be adapted to other age ranges and other profiles of learners.” (Introduction to the Manual, p. 5). Thinking about what dr. Erin Saltan said about positive actions a few years ago in my school we started an activity to raise awareness of the violence against women. To involve the whole town we worked on different levels: a group of students and teachers learnt the choreography for the flash mob Break the chain, some people made photographs to represent missing women from real life, some others wrote a thought on a chair that was put on show together with the photos. Acting like this in regard to hate speeches, meaning working not only with words, but with actions too, could prove to be effective and memorable.

Don't you think that a lot of very hateful speaking has been going on in the playground, when kids are playing football, or in front of TV, when they see a match with parents and family. I did not know "No hate speech movement" and I've just discovered that each State has its own national portal. But Italian one seems to be not to much updated.
Above all to involve school it have to be discussed during school council and insert these principles in School Code fo Conduct. Teachers could first propose some activities to his/her students to sensibilize them and then s/he could invite the class to participate to an online campaign.

In some classes of Primary School I noticed some widespread misunderstandings related to "the different". I think that we should propose activities in order to make our pupils understanding that different people make the group very rich and not weak as most of them think. By the way, as educators, we should start talking about those big issues from very the first day that our path meets our pupils'.

I have looked at the "No hate speech Italy" site that illustrates the Italian campaign against hate speech. The site is not up to date and has few resources. Interesting is the youtube channel with videos in Italian (https://youtu.be/-s0JN9QC4dg). More information is available on the site "Generations Connected", the Italian SIC. There is a competition that can be attended by schools every year. The aim of the competition is to "stimulate the reflection by young people on the risks and dangers of online hate and incitement to it"

I chose an activity freely translated ’photos as statements’. We organize an event in our school, where students together with their parents write heart shaped statements against hate speech and get photographed with them.
