I never really realized how many decisions I made on a daily basis. When I think about decisions, it's usually something big such as, "Should I stop and get gas now or later", "What do I want to cook for dinner", and "Should I skip my first class and catch up on sleep". After watching this video I started thinking about smaller decisions, and right away I realized "As I'm typing in this assignment I'm making the decision on which words to choose, which background to put, etc." With it being such a normal subconscious thing, I guess I just never thought about it before. Weird!

I was surprised to learn that a large majority of people didn't realize they were describing the wrong girl that they picked as more attractive. It's called choice blindness. Where your brain kind of just rolls with what decision you made (or think you made) without really thinking too much about it. I noticed that it wasn't either girl, and I also did not have a hard time picking an ice cream from the shop that had more choices. So to be in the lower percentage of people, it's very interesting to see that other people's minds work so differently from my own.

I never realized that the decoy effect was something used for marketing. I always knew there was something behind some of the stuff marketing people do, such as using red and yellow for restaurants and fast food because those colors seem to trigger hunger. I try to be a bargain shopper and get the best deals, and between a medium 6.50 popcorn and a large 7.00 popcorn, that large is a better deal. But without the medium, just having a small for 3 and a large for 7, that seems like a big gap. Now I know what to look for when I'm shopping next time!
