My nana moved from Guyana and she had to learn to speak with a u.s. accent. Disadvantages that might be forgetting some of your orignal language. Advantages might be getting a long with people easier.

There are advantages and disadvantages to assimilation by providing easier social integration and access to opportunities. There are advantages and disadvantages to assimilation. If you're assimilated, you can fit in better and get to know the culture. But the downside is that you may forget your true identity and may even question it. One of my friend, actually hated her culture after being in america, she no longer wants to believe her culture beliefs. So it can definitely have consequences you never expect.

My parents, after coming to the United States, had to assimilate to the American culture and learn about the American culture before taking a test that determines if they would be a citizen or not. There are disadvantages to assimilation. For example, the natives in America, when they were forced to assimilate to the American culture, became sick and died from eating bread, and they hated assimilating. Instead of speaking english, they speak their own native language in schools, so they were forced to eat soap. They were miserable, and 6% of the Naitives that was forced to assimialate assimilated. The rest died or ran away. However, there is benefits to assimilation. A person knowing about the culture of a forgein country has higher chances of surviving in that country than a person who does not know about the culture. Also, a person from a foregin country might be suspisious if he does not assimilate to where he is.

People have adapted to the English language. They celebrate by participating in their tradtions and holidays. Also dressing is the same styles. Their are many advantages like by fitting in better with others. Also the disadvantages can be sometimes forgetting your true self and forgetting where you came from.

I think that people have assimilated to this country by how people speak and by integration like for example My dad moved in this country a long time ago, now he just speaks English and gets along with them easier.

One advantage I could think of is that their can be social interaction because at first people do not speak the same language as you, but as time goes on you start realizing what they are saying and you can actually understand it. I think one disadvantage is trying to find your own religion, you are in a new country and you are trying to find your typ eof religion its actuallly kind of hard, sometimes you have to eat your type of food.

People have assimilated themselves into the american culture by names and education. this means people from different countries with unique names have now taken the name of Shawn or Tyler and other bland American names to avoid racism and other harmful things. yes, there are advantages and disadvantages to assimilating the advantage is less racism and more rights per say. disadvantages is you lose a part of yourself that you should really keep which is your culture your name is supposed to be unique to you and changing it to fit in is losing a part of your culture without realizing it.

There are advantages and Disadvantages to assimilation you can contribute in a good way by spreading patriotism by putting flags on your property or launching fireworks.
