Voting Rights Act- Ms. Evans

I think that the Voting Rights Act was the most important law of the Civil Rights movement. It is the most important because before the Act was passed, there were a lot of barriers, like Literacy tests, that made voting harder for minority groups. This is wrong because voting is an important right in our Democracy. The Voting Rights Act made Literacy Tests, poll taxes, and Grandfather Clauses illegal, which made it easier for minority groups to vote and met one of the goals of the Civil Rights Movement to increase political participation

I think it is important because now everyone can get a lawyer no matter how much money they make. This makes court more fair and less people getting hounded at lawyers when they don't have one. It made the other civil rights cases to come easier to win when they had a lawyer to help.

Danielle Vaughan

I think that this is the most important for the Civil Rights movement because it led to schools no longer being discriminated against. With the school not being segregated after this was passed, it led to more equal lives for all the colored children. This then inspired Martin Luther King to desegregate people in all places. so all of this just led to everyone being equal in all public places.
-Grace Inglish

This case brought attention to the fact it was strictly racial discrimination. This case also changed views on marriages in today's world.

I think the Roe v. Wade case is the most important because it gave many women the right to get an abortion if they didn't want the kid. This solved many cases of women having children they didn't want and not taking good care if them or hating them. This was an easier way out for them if they got pregnant and didn't want to be or didn't have a stable home or enough money to support the baby. This solved many more problems then what could have been there and happened.

- Heavyn Moore
