Seven Strategies for Building Positive Classrooms

I choose this article because it lists helpful information to guide me and help me reach my goal for a positive classroom climate. As a student teacher, I see now more than ever the importance of a positive classroom. It not only helps the teacher with the instruction and discipline within the classroom, it also helps the students absorb the information that is presented to them. The last item on the list in the article is probably the most difficult one for me to adopt. As a student teacher, I am easily frustrated with the way a lesson is going or if some students are having a behavioral issue. It is difficult to remain positive in these types of situations so this in one that I will need to work on.

Lists help me categorize things better. It gives me some more basic information on how I can make my classroom everything I want it to be and a safe and comfortable environment for my students. Number eight on this list really caught me by surprise. It is something I would like to try someday in my own classroom but I don't think it is appropriate for my student teaching classroom.
