To put a Nikon D7200 into Shutter Priority or "s", you need to look at the top of the camera. on the left should be a round disc with lots of letters/pictures. In the middle of the disc is a button, push that button while rotating the disc to where the white mark points "s". Now the camera is in Shutter Priority mode.

Every time I changed the Shutter Speed from Slow to Fast the camera captured moment more still and made the photo darker. The first photo is very bright and captured lots of movement. The last one is dark and captured a very still point of movement.

A photographer would use Shutter Priority "s" mode when wanting to capture a photo based on Shutter Speed. It helps when doing a fast Shutter Speed to capture a "freeze image" (an image that shows very little movement). It also helps when doing a Slow Shutter Speed to capture a "drawn out image"(an image that shows lots of movement).
