At the time I was really confused because why would a five year old know anything about death. My five year old mind thought why was he dying he's supposed to watch me grow up not die before I even turned ten. I didn't understand until my grandmother told me that he was sick and that he was going to be in a better place until I was old and ready enough to join him.

When she ran away I thought that she would just come back cause she was an outside cat so she sometimes would disappear for a short amount of time. Eventually when 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks passed then I realized that she wasn't coming back and I just started bawling and wondering why she left me.  She had stayed all my life why did she just leave all of a sudden. My dad told me that she probably left so she could die in peace and with out making us sad.

How does this relate to the theme?

I was so sudden that I was confused on what was happening because she was fine the day before and then all of a sudden she just started seizing on the floor and then she had to go to the vet so they could figure out what was wrong with her. When she got there the vet told my dad that she most likely had a brain tumor that had burst and was messing with her brain. I hadn't realized what was happening until we were on our way to the vet to say goodbye. I knew that she was going to die soon but I didn't know that it would be that soon I thought that I would have at least another year to be with her.

How does this relate to the theme?
