As we are read the texts and articles, and watch the videos, we will add to our anchor chart.<br><br>2. The class will design a city map with animal crossings. We will brainstorm the types of animals we see in the city and what they would need for a crossing.<br><br>3. The class will make a <em>My Piece of Environment</em> map. As we learn about how humans effect the environment and the animals, the students will create a land map of what the environment should look like if humans do not effect it.<br><br>4. The students will use the book <em>Man Vs. Animal: Species at Risk by Jeff Garside and Amy Tilmont</em> to discuss how the vanishing rainforest is a big deal. They will brainstorm the different habitats and animals that can be affected. Using the Google Slide the students created, they will share their slides with each other.</div>]]></description>

We will then sort the adaptations into categories on a Jamboard.<br><br>2. Using The Wettest and the Driest Places in the World book, we will brainstorm what types of animals and plants would live in these environments. The class will discuss what types of adaptations a plant or animals would need to survive in those environments.<br><br>3. The students will be placed in small groups and complete a Venn diagram using the Is Antarctica losing its penguins? book and an animal of choice. They will share their results with the whole class.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. The students will analyze their home garbage to see the result of Trash Doesn't Lie. They will complete a pre-questionnaire asking what they believe their trash would tell about them. Then complete a questionnaire about what they actually found in the trash and compare the two.<br><br>2. The students will brainstorm a list of how to be sustainable the recycled items. The brainstorming will result in an anchor chart with the item and what we as humans can do to reduce the waste from that item.<br><br>3. The students will use recycled items to make a project for their homes. They will need to plan the project, design the product and make the project. That will create an object that they believe will be used at home.&nbsp;<br><br>4. The students will create a blog or podcast explaining the importance of recycling. They will use these projects to create a presentation to help others in the school learn about recycling. We could incorporate parts of these projects for a school assembly.</div>]]></description>

We will use the Our Natural Resources book to help brainstorm.<br><br>2. The students will reflect on their daily lives, and decide what they can do to preserve natural resources. They will then decide if the resource is a non-renewable resource or renewable.<br><br>3. In small groups, the students will choose an animal and make a plan on how losing natural resources would hurt that animal and their environment. They will create a blog and will share it with the other groups.&nbsp;<br><br>4. The students will explore different objects they find in the school or the playground and categorize them as natural or man-made. They will do this in small groups and share their findings.&nbsp;<br><br>5. Students will take the career questionnaire at the end of the Food and Natural Resources book to see which career fits them. They will share their results with the class.</div>]]></description>
