This year felt much smoother for me than last season, but there were definitely weeks where I was missing notifications or forgetting to move things over in the proofing queue, partly because it was hard to keep track of notifications that were coming in from multiple platforms (Google Docs, MT, CPP, text, email) at very different times during the day (depending on when people were working). I sometimes felt like neither I nor the student were fully up to speed on what we were supposed to be doing, so I had to quickly get my bearings. I could imagine, though, that if I had a more stringent schedule, things would have gotten tricky. On a more profound level, I think it can be challenging to work with kids who don't have a great sense of the college process and the kinds of decisions and work they need to take ownership of.
