With a lifelong passion for music, Juan has journeyed through various musical experiences, shaping his path toward becoming a dedicated music tutor and performer.

Personal Statement:

From a young age, music has held a special place in Juan's heart. Although childhood circumstances prevented formal music education, the joy of end-of-year performances ignited a spark that later drove his musical pursuits. Now, on the verge of completing an HND 1 in music, Juan is ready to fulfill his dream of becoming a music teacher.

Skills and Qualifications:

Juan's musical journey began in 1989, with early exposure to music theory and guitar at a Mercedarian minor seminary. Over the years, he expanded his musical horizons, venturing into bands like Explosivos and exploring diverse styles such as punk, rock, reggae, flamenco, and their fusion.

Notable milestones include winning a karaoke competition on Telecinco in 1995 and collaborating with various bands, culminating in recording sessions for the album "Diez Ases en la Manga" with Yeska in 2010.

Outside of formal education, Juan honed his craft through street performances in Madrid and Edinburgh, showcasing his talent as a versatile musician and performer.

In 2023, while studying music at SCQF level 6, Juan further enriched his musical repertoire by delving into new singing techniques and mastering music software such as Logic and Padlet. At the same time, he shared his passion for music by teaching guitar and performing as a resident musician at a local bar.

Now armed with a diverse set of skills and a wealth of experiences, Juan is ready to inspire the next generation of musicians as a music tutor, imparting both practical knowledge and a deep appreciation for the art of music.

For the role of a teacher, it is important to cover these types of subjects, even if only superficially. To be honest, it has been a bit tedious for me. However, I completely agree with the first image our professor showed us: "Hire a lawyer." If my future plans included becoming a manager, I would certainly be very interested in this subject. On the other hand, as a future teacher, it’s good to be familiar with the material because I might someday have to teach this subject to a future manager or a general music student. Additionally, as a musician and creator, it’s beneficial to know and understand these types of laws and jurisprudence because they have been established through disputes experienced throughout the history of music.

Music theory plays a crucial role in shaping my effectiveness as a music tutor. A solid understanding of music theory enables me to teach my students the fundamental concepts that form the backbone of music.
