We can try to shift their vocabulary and remind them that 'they can' do it. Rather than saying 'I can't". Or saying 'not yet'... Just shifting the way they are thinking.

Have extreme positive reinforcement for growth mindset based actions, and keep up the culture of the classroom as warm and as having that mindset through lots of verbal praise for actions and methods even when they go awry.

By simply showing each student that you care about them. Give encouragement, positive feedback, and even different small tasks to do in the classroom such as line leader. When a student sees someone they look up to believe in them, they tend to believe in themselves more.

Creating a safe space where questions are encouraged because there are no stupid questions! I love the saying used in your classroom, how mistakes are seen as making us smarter. Love how this helps students reframe frustration and keep moving forward. At the same time, giving students space to share their frustrations prevents discouragement and reinforces that learning takes time and support.
