  • The Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELCRA) was initially established as a statutory body in 1966.

  • Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority(Malay: Pihak Berkuasa Kemajuan Pekebun Kecil Perusahaan Getah), abbreviated RISDA, is a Malaysian federal government agency under the Ministry of Rural Development entrusted to oversee the smallholder sector as an important production sector in the national economy.

    • RISDA was established on 1 January 1973 under the powers passed by Parliament:- the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) Act 1972 [Act 85] and the Rubber Industry Fund (Replanting) Ordinance 1952.

    FUNCTION
    • To implement development policies and programs to ensure the growth and viability of the smallholder sector of rubber industry;
    • To plan, coordinate, implement and monitor the Scheme provided and approved under the provisions of Part VI of the RISDA Act 1972;
    • To provide technical services, advice, training and education programs to the smallholder sector;
    • To collect and manage statistics or information necessary and maintain records relating to the smallholder sector;
      To plan and implement any other activities that may improve the social and economic well-being of smallholders;
    • To ensure that the smallholder sector is modernized to improve the social and economic well-being of smallholders;
      To do any other things that enable it to perform its functions effectively or incidental to the performance of its functions.

FAMA's responsibility is to improve the marketing of agro food products such as vegetables, fruits and agro-based industry products.


    To drive the domestic and international marketing sector, FAMA in its role of marketing agro food products initiates to expend the market size of agro food products and increase agriculture and agro-based industry products to ensure it is available and can be obtained at affordable prices by consumers. To implement this role FAMA has been continuously intensifying efforts to enhance efficiency in the marketing chain by focusing on the following items:   

    1)Strengthening supply through Contract Farming Program
    2)Expand  market access
    3)Improve the promotion of domestic and export market

    Fama state director Paza Dan said the special sale programme enables consumers to buy fresh meat, vegetables and other needs for the festival at a reasonable price. Fama will expand this programme to more farmers markets throughout the state next year.

    Works Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof, who officiated at the programme, said it was good for those preparing for Aidilfitri.

    “Fama has organised this programme to make it convenient for the public in their Raya preparations, while at the same time promoting the market, traders and their products,” said Fadillah, who is also Petra Jaya Member of Parliament. Fana is a very important program. It helps the Malaysian Economy to grow and make the country take a step forward to Self-sufficiency.
