I don’t think it’s real I think it was Brom Bones and he made that  lie to disappear Ichabod cause they both wanted Katrina. Yes Ichabod is alive and well he just got frightened out of the town afterwards. I think. He disappeared at the school house maybe the headless horseman trapped him somewhere there. He also saw Ichabod as a competitor. Brom Bones also lied about the church bridge, saying that the headless horseman can not go over the bridge. However when Ichabod was being chased by the headless horseman he went to the church bridge and was caught. We think the headless horseman is Brom Bones that was trying to scare Ichabod away.  We know that Ichabod is alive and well because he made it to the bridge. In the story it says that  Gunpowder’s hooves pound as they
cross the bridge. Yes we think he is haunting the school because in the story is says you can
hear the ghost of Ichabod Crane whistling
near the schoolhouse.
