I think students violate the 6th commandment the most often. When students violate this commandment, it may not be out of bad intention. Sometimes students use a free version of a textbook they find online rather than buying the expensive version from the bookstore. This also may happen in an academic setting when students forget to site text they used in an essay.

Why do you think these violations occur?

Violations of these commandments may occur for multiple reasons. A lot of the time, people think it is okay to hide behind a screen and don't think about future consequences of their actions. People may also be ignorant to the effect they can have on other people. It is important to be a mindful, friendly user when it comes to technology.

What do you think could be done to reduce or eliminate such unethical behavior?

I think user education would help reduce unethical behavior. Reminding people there are consequences to their actions and educating people on the importance of safe technology use could improve the internet community.
