Two laps of the park and playing field form the usual parkrun course and is a mainly a paved 5km route (join the Gloucester Academy Strave: https://www.strava.com/clubs/773782/members). There are some nice period buildings in the park itself, especially the Pitville Pump Room. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Offering stunning views of Cheltenham and Charlton Kings, Leckhampton is a short drive from the town centre with car parks accessed on Daisy Bank Road. There are a mixture of paths that include disused quarry roads, farmland (and cows), grass and woodland and is suitable for all abilities. If you're into trail running there are some good runs you can do from here.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cleeve Hill offers great views over Cheltenham. Slightly further out from the town centre but still very much 'local.' There are slightly longer, flatter routes than at Leckhampton with a mixture of grassy hillside and woodland. If you're into cycling the hill offers a challenging climb and leads onto nearby Winchcombe, a well preserved example of an 'Olde' Cotswold Town.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Built in the 15th Century and once home to Catherine Parr (who 'survived' Henry VIII). Sudeley Castle is still lived in and  is normally open for visitors. There are public rights of way in the fields around Sudeley Castle, which offer good views of the castle itself and allows great country walks.</div>]]></description>

You can walk along the high street to see the old shops and come back along the river bank, which is flat and offers views into some aspirational homes and riverside gardens. There is also the ruins of the of Hailes Abbey to explore.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Part of the larger Gloucester and Sharpness Canal network, the canal passes through the centre of the City. The nearby Gloucester Quays has recently been developed from an industrial site and into a food and shopping area (so check that out when it reopens). You can enjoy nice and flat out and back walks along the canal on the towpath, that can offer an escape from the busy town centre.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Step out of the city and into the country. Find interesting wooden carvings amongst a recently replanted orchard (it's apple season!). The summit hosts fabulous views of the Severn Bridge to the South, the Malvern Hills to the North and the Black Mountains to the West. A terrific walking landscape and enjoyable for animal lovers, the Robinswood Hill is also habitat for many creatures, such as badgers, foxes and birds including Red Kites amongst others.</div>]]></description>

There are multiple entry and exit points along the River Avon, along with many fishermen/women to keep an eye on you as you swim.
