I read "The family game I never wanted to win" by Laird Barron. Before the piece began a different writer gave a bit of background on the piece which I thought was interesting. The way they described it was taking something more relaxing or "good" and giving it a more sinister feeling. From what I read the piece itself was interesting, the dad seems to compare normal everyday things to like how predatory species act which is kind of weird but I think the purpose of the piece was to be weird, overall I thought it was interesting and longer than expected.-Miyori

It was a story about the speaker and her writer friend that she didn't know well, but her friend emailed her saying she was going to end her life the next day approved by a medical professional. It was a pretty sad story of the speaker grieving by looking to see any signs of her writer friend on the internet, but instead found memories of her within the posts around the internet. The way they went about it was understandable and a was interesting because of the way they were reminded of their friend.

This story is about how the character goes through a heart break. How their lover left and took a part of them along. That there was a space left for them to deal with. However they began to become comfortable in the space and became to like the space. By the end of the story the lover wanted to talk and space wanted space. This story was weird to me but in a sense I kinda understand. He became in love with the space between him and his lover. It was a coping mechanism for him to get over his ex and now that they appeared again that space was being filled. It wasn't needed anymore and he all missed the space that he had.. kayla
