Interesting facts

1.The first wave of a tsunami is usually not the strongest, successive waves get bigger and stronger.

2.Tsunamis can travel at speeds of about 500 miles or 805 kilometers an hour, almost as fast as a jet plane.

3.In the deepest part of the ocean, tsunami waves are often only 1 to 3 feet tall. Sailors may not even realize that tsunami waves are passing beneath them.

What Have I Learnt

None of us will ever forget the horrifying pictures that filled our TV screens and newspapers following December 26, 2004. Approximately 300,000 people lost their lives and millions were displaced when the tsunami hit the shores of Southeast Asia and Africa. The destruction and human suffering it left behind were worse than in a war zone.

Nature has a way to warn you before a tsunami hits.
1. Is that animals start acting odd they will start to try to go to higher ground that because they know inctinactivly that something dangerous and deadly is coming fast and soon.

2. The ocean will start to reside backwards that's the ocean's way of saying "Hey, all you Einesteins I am about to hit you with something that is fast and deadly you better run as fast as you can or I am not going to be held responsible for what is going to happen." As soon as you see the water reside backwards beyond what it normally does run and don't look back no matter what happens.

That's why all those people died in the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami is because their curisosty got the better of them and didn't listen to the warnings.
