What I got out of our annotations today, is that often, we miss connections we have with a text.Annotations help us realize connections that may help on other assignments, or just reading comprehension. Something I realized that I had a lot of connections with Rachel, the girl in the story, that I originally thought. Also, my perspective of being a certain age changed. Since Rachel is eleven, she also has the characteristics she had when she was ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and (even) one. This strategy will make me a better reader because I now by annotating, I will be helped to recognize more (I.e. Personal connections, textual connections, new perspectives, literary technique, and interesting language.) . Annotating will also help me to improve my reading comprehension.

From the text, I learned that there are many things that you can annotate that people tend not to. For example, I had comments and connections that I would not normally annotate.

3. Annotating can make me a better reader because I now not only understand the book better, but I also can go back to some annotations and remember all of what I read.

1. What I got out of annotating the book Eleven today helped me get a better understanding of what to annotate and how to annotate the correct way.

2. What I learned from the text was that there are SO many things u can annotate that i never knew. For example reactions, textual connections, interesting language, literary, etc. In 5th grade they never taught us how to correctly annotate, they only taught us setting/plot, main characters, emotions, and connections.

3. I think that annotating will make understanding a book a lot easier (in my opinion, i agree) but maybe for some people they think it just may be a waste of time. Annotating will help me gather information ALOT better. I believe that annotating will help a lot better in everyday life with reading comprehension, novels, TEXTBOOKS, and just reading for fun!

1. When I wrote annotations about the story Eleven today it gave me a better understanding of what I should be annotating in my IR book.

2. What I learned from annotating that I didn't see before was that I could connect to the main character more than what I thought before I annotated it.

3. This stratagy can make me a better reader because the annotations helped me understand the book more. It is hard to read a book or story when you are confused therefore when I annotate it I can enjoy the book more.
