ESSAY Writing sample:

Tourism is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world today. Every year, millions of people travel to different places, and this has a big impact on local communities. Some people think tourism brings good things, while others believe it causes problems. This essay will discuss both the positive and negative effects of tourism on local communities.

One of the main benefits of tourism is that it creates jobs for local people. Hotels, restaurants, and shops often need more workers when tourists visit. This can help improve the local economy, especially in small towns or villages. For example, in some rural areas, tourism is a major source of income, helping families to have a better life.

Tourism can also help preserve local culture. Tourists are often interested in learning about local traditions, festivals, and customs. This can encourage communities to keep their cultural heritage alive. In countries like Thailand, traditional dances and crafts are promoted because tourists want to see them.

However, tourism also has some negative effects. One problem is that too many tourists can harm the environment. For example, beaches and parks can get dirty, and natural resources like water can be overused. Another issue is that tourism can change local culture. Sometimes, locals may change their traditions to attract tourists, which can cause a loss of cultural identity.

In conclusion, tourism has both positive and negative effects on local communities. It is important to find a balance to make sure that tourism helps communities while protecting the environment and culture.

writing

In this day and age, tourism has been acknowledged as the most powerful economic weapon of many countries since it is rapidly growing and contributing to their financial development and improve the quality of life. Because of that, an argument about the upsides and downsides of tourism has occurred. Some individuals assume that it brings more downsides than upsides while the other one think oppositely. This essay will discuss both of the opinions.

First and foremost, we can’t deny the fact that tourism has a vital role in the economic growth of a country, especially in developing ones since it provides the visitors with local attractions, accommodations, foods and handmade souvenirs, which not only contribute to the country’s development but also decrease the percentage of unemployment, creating more source of income for their residents. For example, people in rural area like the mountainous region of Viet Nam once unpopular due to the lack of advertising and attention, but now they are well-known for their unique culture and people in that area can make a profit and earn a living from what their ancients left for them.

Additionally, preserving heritages and spreading the local history for foreigners is easier with the help of tourism since they usually interested in learning about the local traditions, festivals and customs. For instance, the traditional forms of entertainment, such as “hat xam”, “quan ho”,… are experiencing a resurgence in the recent years due to the fact that vacation industry has been more and more popular in Viet Nam and around the world, leading to many people have the ability to travel further and further. As a result, this is a great encouragement to the communities to keep their roots and culture alive.

On the other hand, travel industry, or more specific, mass-tourism can lead to the increase in prices since the seller wants to have more profit and the foreigners are the most suitable subject to be scammed. More and more, high tourism activities also pollute the environment by dumping litter straight to the rivers or lakes, throwing trash, gums wherever and whenever they want, leading to the loss of local ecosystems.

In conclusion, everything has its upsides and downsides and tourism is not an exception. The only solution to the bad side of tourism is the government should strengthen the laws, pay more attention and fine who directly destroy historical statues, sculptures and sceneries of that place.

In recent year ,as tourism grows remarkably, millions of people are traveling further each year that is seemed to be one of the fastest rising industries all over the world. While people accept that the development of tourism has had negative effects on local communities, others would argue that its influences are positive. In my opinion, In my opinion, the drawbacks of tourism balance out its benefits.Discussed bellow are both sides of this issue.

First and foremost,it is crystal-clear that there are various the development of tourism’s advantages. The first point to consider is that tourism has the ability to make profits and create majors for the local people. This means that people provided with the number of job’s chances or country’s economy increased rapidly by it like Thailand and Bali earn greatly from tourism… Additionally, the growth of tourism facilitates cultural exchange and helps people to learn between people from diverse cultures that encourages locals to preserve their own heritages and traditions.

On the other hand,in addition to the upsides of this problem,it has some downsides. One point that cannot be overlooked is environmental damage. It often results in many obstacles, such as increased pollution and lack of natural resources, and can impact on wildlife like the Great Barrier Reef is getting damaged because of too many visitors… Moreover, tourism can make places hustle and bustle ,products and services become more expensive for the locals.Beside that, local culture might change to attract tourists, which even make it lose its true enssence and results in many effects later on.

In conclusion, the growth of tourism industry could bring about certain positive sides, but its negative consequences should not be ignored that should be taken into account. Thus, every individual should be aware of travelling to protect local communities so as to achieve more benefits afterwards.
