Reading articles about criminals has been very fascinating to me, because I’ve always been interested in finding out why criminals act the ways they do, what could possibly make someone commit a crime, and how crime affects our society. I found the story of Luka Magnotta very fascinating and it made me think of his past and the reasons why he was behaving in that certain way.
 Two years ago, I met a guy named Bill Dorsch, a retired Chicago police officer and a detective. He told me many stories about criminals, but he also told me about the people who were accused of crimes they didn’t commit, which made me start thinking about these people’s lives and what they must’ve been through at that time.
 I am very dedicated to this subject because I think that there is nothing better than helping others and protecting them. I am interested in solving crimes and I want to help the community, prevent crimes and think of ways to decrease the rate of crime in the world. I’ve always been an extremely hardworking person and there has never been anything that I’ve started and not finished. This is because I am very good at adapting to every situation that I’ve been put into. I am also good with time management. I am very strict with myself when it comes to work and productivity, which I think is very important when it comes to criminology and investigating, because I believe that this subject is very serious, because crime is everywhere, whether we see it on the news or sometimes we don’t even know about it, it can happen to anyone and it is really important to be responsible and accountable. I am also very good with problem solving, as I put all my thoughts and effort into a certain situation and always try to find out what caused the problem and how it can be solved.
 I am currently studying Fashion and Design, and although it is not directly related to criminology, I am interested in this particular subject and very motivated to study something new. Throughout all the three years in college I learnt how to do in depth research in whatever I am including in my work which I think is a great skill, because the more information you have, the more educated you are on a certain topic. I have also developed my communication skills and gained more confidence in myself and the classwork that I’ve done.
 With the opportunity to study and potentially start a career in criminology, I would then be able to work something that I have passion for, and for a good cause.
Outside of college I read books and articles for pleasure and perspective, I always educate myself on different subjects, because I am a person who is interested in world’s problems and ideas for solving them.
 I like drawing, as I find it relaxing and helpful to clear my mind and become more concentrated. I also like sports, and workout often, because it improves my brain function and it helps my brain develop better problem-solving skills. 
I am looking forward for the opportunity to expand my skills by studying Criminology.
 I would love to work as a criminologist because I can see myself doing it with passion and dedication, because I want to help the society and make the world a safer place to live.
