Generally, I don't listen to a lot of harmony-heavy music. My taste moves more towards dissonance, a well-melded chaos. I like to hear a lot of music going on at once that mixes well together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJvivBodcic Here's an example of what I'm listening to at the moment. Right now though, I'm having to dig because this Padlet focuses on chapter 14 of Ratliff, "two or more musicians or musical elements, acting in the purest coordination (Ratliff, 161)". I agree with Ratliff's proposition that closeness is an essential part of music, because even in the more dissonant works or music there is a harmony built deep within the song. Two instruments keeping each other in time is closeness, two voices complementing each other is a harmony or closeness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUW_8cWG7YA this is a favorite of mine I would say counts as closeness- David Bowie and Freddie Mercury going back and forth, coordinating with the instruments alongside them. Out of the songs I took from Ratliff's suggestions, I picked "When I Get Home" because the Beatles are particularly known for harmony and 'closeness'. From the beginning you can hear it, their closeness exists as something easily heard on the surface- especially depending on which era you choose from their discography.
