The inspiration behind the chorus had come from Seth Ennis's mom who actually texted him multiple times saying "Call your Mama" which would inspire the song (Dukes).  Seth Ennis uses the appeals of Logos and Pathos in the lyrics. Then he uses the appeals of Ethos and Pathos in the music video to get the message across. In the chorus the lyrics "Cause you a'int ever gonna get another" show logos. These lyrics state a fact as you only get one mom, yes there is stepmoms and other motherly figures but you never get another person who raises you like your mom did or does. Towards the end of the song we can see logos again with the lyrics "Cause there's gonna be a day the good lord's gonna, call your Mama". These lyrics state another fact as one day your mom will pass and there is nothing you can do to stop it so appreciated while you can before it is too late.
The last example of logos is the lyrics "Take one last look in that rear-view on your way". These lyrics show how when someone is leaving they will most likely look back before they are on their way.

This song is really emotional and can bring out feelings because it uses pathos. One example of pathos is in the lyrics "Outta that stick around town you're about to leave behind" and these lyrics can show emotion as the "stick around town" your leaving behind is the town that the listener or audience most likely spend most of their childhood and teenage years. This can evoke emotion as they are leaving their hometown and everything behind with it. Another example is "But every now and then, call your Mama". In these lyrics the speaker is advising the listeners to keep in touch "every now and then" before it is too late. "Cause you a'int ever gonna get another" is another example of pathos in the lyrics. This also brings emotion as the speaker is stating that you only get one mom so you should appreciate it while she is around. Toward the middle of the song in the lyrics "You're gonna find you a string willed girl with a gentle heart like hers" also bring pathos into the song. These lyrics show how you are going to start a new life and may forget about your town but never forget where you came from. Toward the end of the song, the lyrics "Cause there's gonna be a day the good Lords gonna, call your Mama" bring in pathos as well. These lyrics bring a lot of emotion into play. He uses these to make the audience feel what he is feeling. Although Ennis has not lost him mom, he still gets the point across by reminding the audience to keep in touch with their mom.
