The author uses many different sources as evidence. I appreciate this because I think that sometimes rather than trying to explain something in an abstract way it can be good to just give multiple examples in order to teach. I think that the passage really gives many examples that relate to the topic and I feel like the summary at the end connects them all together.

This advertisement uses three very important codes to show that you should buy it. It uses the rule of thirds to focus on his face, body, and the Polo logo. It also uses a consistent deep blue color scheme showing royalty and wealth. Finally the model is staring directly into the camera to show assertiveness.

This add uses Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. It uses Ethos (Credibility) bu showing a strong man with good skin to show that with this product you can also have good skin. It uses Pathos (Emotion) with the phrase, "Smell Like A Man, Man." since it preys on an emotional insecurity of not being "manly". This ad lacks the use of Logos (Logic).

This ad made me think a lot about the actual production that goes into something simple that can harm the environment. This ad uses pathos to make the reader feel how much nature losses. It uses a bright yellow font to bring attention. The words are also all capitalized even though it is a longer saying as the whole thing is important.

The “Kitchenette Building” reflects on the idea of poverty within communities. It uses imagery to show that when you are in a community that isn’t able to get all of the resources it needs it feels like the days are long and you are just in a constant loop but that there is also a dream that everyone looks towards.
