I'm a student athlete, I have a large interest in music though I do not take any classes for it. I'm a self thought ukulele and mediocre piano player. I play the violin as well and am learning how to play the guitar. I have two younger brothers. Out of us three siblings I'm the oldest. I live with my mom and my step-dad and my half brother. I put a high value on friends and family, and consider selflessness to be a strong part of who I try to be. Like many, I have a few goals set for my own future. I plan on hopefully receiving a full scholarship for a medical career, I plan on playing lacrosse in college. My dream colleges are UVA, VT, Notre Dame.
I consider myself to be very selfish at times, so doing selfless acts is my way to fight that. Along with that I tend to try and be nice to people though it may not happen all the time.With that however, I came across to see how quick people are to judge an individual. Recently there have been many changes in our society. Gay marriage, war in the middle east...and with those changes came discrimination. Me personally, I hate it. I think it is just a selfish and egoistic act. People shouldn't be treated differently because they don't share your same beliefs, or because some people to happen to be persons same race do something horrible and inhumane.. people assume they're like that or assume they're equally as bad. Some people are called terrorist just because they wear a certain type of clothing. People are denied a certain way just because they're females. People suffer because of discrimination. Many more than others. And that is something that is on my mind CONSTANTLY. While doing research today I found that when it comes to health care, transgender people are more bound to be refused to be taken care of medically.
