How did you come up with your original ideas?

Our group came up with our original ideas by basing it off of a previous successful bio wall. (Drexel University) Our group reviewed what plants were used and how the biowall was put together. The plants at Drexel’s biowall were: Croton mamey, Schefflera arboricola, Schefflera gold capella bush, Petra species, Aralia elegantissima, Ficus elastica, burgundy bush (rubber tree plant), Hedera species (Algerian ivy), Ficus starlight, Ficus species, Anturium species, and Hibiscus species. Our group studied how they put the bio-wall together, how the plants grow together air quality, what plants they used and why. We also judged them on if there Bio-wall was pretty or not. (Just kidding) Mr. Ruddick’s diagram of the grid and water filter was a helpful start to our group’s original plan.

How
did these roles change as the project went on?

Our job roles changed as the project went on by us losing class periods/time for miscellaneous reasons and Mr. Ruddick and Mr. Heinz sort of deleting two jobs. During the project we were given a blueprint / structure model to how the project was to be set up. So as a group we came together taking what we were given to figure out how to produce and create the rest of the project. We all started acting like project engineers and contributing equally.

The pockets for the plants will help if they have a bit of the soil from the original plant container and simple grow to keep it balanced.
