The IMF works to improve international financial cooperation, stable economic stability, facilitate worldwide trade, sell excessive employment and sustainable financial growth, and decrease poverty across the world.

The United States contributes $117 billion to the IMF quota (17.46%). In addition, the United States has contributed $44 billion to funds at the IMF that supplement quota resources.

The impact of IMF loans has been widely debated. Opponents of the IMF argue that the loans enable member countries to pursue reckless domestic economic policies knowing that, if needed, the IMF will bail them out. This safety net, critics charge, delays needed reforms and creates long-term dependency.

One controversy about this trade agreement was the loss of jobs in the U.S.A. to Mexico. It was seen as a controversy because this was not good for job growth.

Apple was asked to unlock phones that were involved in crimes. This led to weaker privacy. 

An attempt to reform the world to be a healthier place.

They protested about climate change. They protested in Washington. They protested by buying climate clocks. Washington council meetings to discuss climate change. 

Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of a person.

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honor and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international cooperation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality.

Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitations of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.

I think all of these rights are and should continue to be guaranteed human rights. 

Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

I don’t know how they would be able to enforce this.

Polls found that the main reasons people voted Leave were "the principle that decisions about the UK should be taken in the UK", and that leaving "offered the best chance for the UK to regain control over immigration and its own borders."

Brexit is a rejection of globalization.

More than merely tossing aside the EU, this vote represents a rejection of globalization and the implicit trade-off of some democratic control over economic policy for prosperity. It’s an exchange that more citizens across the world, including the United States, are unwilling to make – often believing they can earn the same gains without a loss of economic control.

For Europe, the negative consequences and challenges of Brexit go way beyond the GDP effect: the EU lost about one-sixth of its economic power and a far greater share of its foreign and security policy weight with the exit of a country which has considerable global influence.
