With UDL and online learning I can translate my lessons to other languages students/families may speak. Additionally, I can provide a variety of different activity options they can do for the lesson instead of having the students only have one or two activity options in the classroom. This allows students to think critically to solve a problem visually. This works great in the classroom when I can organize a variety of materials and provide different visual examples. I will be challenged to figure out how to provide these options during remote learning as students do not have access to the same variety of materials at home. It's not enough to assign the AT, it is also important to practice using the technology yourself so that you can be aware of whether or not its functionality is beneficial to the student. This may mean including text to speech for all materials/websites we use and pictures with descriptions.
