The agriculture industry is one of the leading sources of water waste. We use up so much of our fresh water each and every day to grow crops. Our water supply is gradually decreasing at an unsustainable rate.

Soil erosion:
When farmers plow their fields, they continuously lose a thin top layer of soil. The soil is also washed away by the weather such as rain or wind. This means we are continuously losing land that we will never be getting back. The soil that is lost can end up in our lakes and rivers, causing harm to our marine life and fresh water.

A common method of forestry is clear cutting. The harvesting of an entire stand of trees. The problem with clear cutting is that it increases the impact of winds and rain on local ecosystems. It causes the soil to become dry and overheated. This causes the vegetation on the ground around the trees to become overexposed to sunlight and the dry soil, killing the plants. The environment can also be impacted by the chemicals lumber companies use to spray the trees. They spray the trees to get rid of the insects that may effect the wood quality. The chemicals they spray could leak into the soil and nearby water bodies. The chemicals could harm the fish and wildlife away from the clear cutting site.

Mining contaminates ground water and surface water. It also causes soil erosion and it contributing to contamination of peoples health due to releasing of chemicals. Some materials of mining cause air pollution. Mining causes destruction of land ex: an open pit leaves a large hole in the ground once the mine is finished and a pile of waste rock is left there. In order to restore it it takes time and money. Also strip mining causes soil to be destroyed. as well as underground mining in which an ore that will be smelted that releases toxic chemicals into the air.

The oil and gas industry in Canada is located throughout 12 out of 13 provinces and territories, but the main site locations are in the western region of Canada. Alberta is the leading province in producing gas and oil (as you can see below), and British Columbia and Saskatchewan are the second largest producers. The territories in the north and some of the eastern provinces have oil and gas plants/ factories, and have untapped resources, but they are not as big and diverse as the Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbian sites. As you can see, the map below shows the main and biggest oil and gas plants in Canada.

The Oil and Gas Industry has many opposing impacts on the environment that influence climate change. The industry invests in conveying barrels of oil and depositing for consumption, which emits greenhouse gases. In relation to this statement, the principal contributor to climate change are greenhouse gas emissions. The process commences from the early extraction, which can be removed from oil sands. Moreover, the crude oil must be purified, which advances to the refinement stage for the industry. After the oil has been thoroughly cleansed, the industry transport the newly-made oil, large trucks transfer the barrels of oil before providing to consumers. This continuous procedure creates an unceasing destruction on the environment, fueling the pollution. These greenhouse gases hang in the atmosphere, contaminating the air leaving it heavily polluted. Of humanity and its wrongdoings, it reflects back on us, inflicting agonizing respiratory issues from the contaminated air. Also, the pollution has an effect on the global temperatures, shifting certain regions of its once calming, balanced weather. Also, when the industry conducts seismic surveys the fish are very sensitive to sound which causes disturbance for spawning rates in certain territories. In addition to this, this can ensue fish migration. Furthermore, by affecting some habitats and organisms, it can lead to species declination. Also it can affect fish stock supply due to water and soil contamination and waste management. Overall, the oil and gases industry has become an insanely destructive issue on climate change and humanity.
