Question 1: I think that the library is somewhat connected to Snow and Rose's father. I feel as if there is some sort of clue in the library that could lead to where Snow and Rose's father is. 

Question 2: Right now, Ivo seems like an ally, but there might be a major change in the story that could make him an enemy. Question 1: I believe that the library's role in the book will be to provide answers about Snow and Rose's father. Everything about the library is suspicious with it disappearing/reappearing and having objects rather than books.
Question 2: I think that Ivo is an ally. All about the library is mysterious, instead of books the library shelf are filled to the brim with objects, and the library being able to disappear and reappear makes it seem magical.
