The resulting offspring hybrids are also commonly utilized for meat production since they tend to have higher growth rates, resistance to disease, and overall hardness. Most of the offspring will inherit identical copies of genes from both parents, because those genes were inherited from the same ancestor. In results, the risk of harmful genetic traits or disorders will be expressed will be increased, and a phenomenon classified as inbreeding depression. Then, inbreeding also decreases the genetic diversity and makes it defenseless to diseases and faces difficulties in adapting to environmental changes. Inbreeding may be used to preserve specific traits, excessive inbreeding can lead to serious health problems in some controlled breeding programmes, such as for purebred animals or livestock. However, in human populations, inbreeding is generally discouraged and often legally restricted due to its potential to cause genetic abnormalities in offspring.</p>]]></description>
