My first phone was a hand-me-down from a friend, I would've never been able to afford it otherwise! I remember taking it to school and being the 'popular' kid for the day! Each school year started with a search to see who had the newest model; this social pressure made me more eager to save up for the next best one. My parents were very strict about technology because of the reports of it worsening mental health and bullying etc. Once I got it I felt more grown up and that I 'fit in' more at school. Over my lifetime I have always felt social pressure and FOMO (fear of missing out) which has meant getting new forms of social media. I decided that I needed to learn more about racism, and read, along with others, this book that impacted me greatly. I began watching a lot of documentaries about various things going on in our World to make me feel like I was doing something productive. Whilst many introverts celebrated at the prospect of more time to themselves, extroverts like myself panicked! Everything from meetings to celebrations moved to Zoom which at first was exciting and new but quite quickly became a chore. 
Created in 2011, hardly anyone had heard of Zoom until 2020 when it became an obsession of the masses. One Christmas I was given an 'iPod' that in reality was a fake one but it worked just as fine and I adored it; the best thing was going on long car journeys and having the ability to choose my own music! A few years later as I got older and technology progressed I got a real iPod!
