This will be my 18th year of teaching, and I will be joining Brunswick High School. Although I’m originally from Massachusetts, I have lived in 5 states and consider Maryland home. We moved back here this summer after 6 years in Indiana.

I earned my undergrad at Liberty Univ and my M.S.Ed at Johns Hopkins Univ. 

I have taught middle school, high school, and college ages. My most unusual teaching experience was in a Tyson chicken processing plant (the smell there was even worse than middle school).

I’m returning to FCPS (started my career with 8 years of English at FHS, then a year at GTJHS as a media specialist) after 5 years as a media specialist in Howard Co. I’ll be at THS this year teaching 10 year long, 10 merit, and 9 merit. I love to share that I originally went to college thinking I would be a math teacher, but decided to pursue English because I enjoyed it so much more. I started teaching 40+ years ago - oh my how the time really does fly - with FCPS. I traveled throughout the county during my years as an English teacher, which included stops at Governor Thomas Johnson Middle School, Governor Thomas Johnson High School, Catoctin High School, Walkersville High School, Central Office, and now Oakdale High School.
